Hundreds of homes are to be upgraded as part of a £1.5 million modernisation programme being undertaken by Railway Housing Association.

Railway Housing Associations is carrying out improvements that include the installation of new central heating boilers, kitchens, bathrooms, double glazed windows and repairs to boundary walls.

It forms part of a rolling maintenance programme the Association carries out on its properties.

Andrea Abbott, Railway Housing Association’s Director of Customer Services, said: “This year we will be spending £1,531,355 on improvement work to our homes, which represents one of our largest investments in recent years.

“It is important for us to ensure our homes remain warm, energy efficient and attractive places in which to live.

“Our residents are fully involved in the process so, for example, if they are getting new kitchens they are able to choose from a number of units and designs.”
