Board members sought

20th March 2018 | posted in News

Railway Housing Association is currently seeking two new board members.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who have already served on a board or have experience in procurement in their working life. The positions would also suit those who understand the governance requirements for  social housing providers

Anne Rowlands, Chief Executive of Railway Housing Association, said: “It is rare for us to have vacancies on our board. These are interesting roles and come at an exciting time for the association in the run up to our centenary and with our largest development in almost 20 years about to be completed. We are therefore hoping for lots of interest.

“Like all housing associations, we face the challenges of regulation and ensuring good governance arrangements, while continuing to improve our services and provide new, affordable homes during the current difficult economic times.

“Railway Housing Association is in an excellent position, having received the highest rating from  our regulator  for governance  and financial management

“And in 2019, we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary, so as well as playing an important strategic role, our two new board members will also have the opportunity to be involved in the events we will be holding to mark this significant milestone.”

Railway’s board meetings are held in Darlington approximately six times a year, with additional training sessions. Board members are not remunerated but receive out of pocket expenses

Anyone Interested can receive further details and an information pack from Karen West on 01325 373035 or by emailing kwest@railwayha.co.uk

The closing date for expressions of interest and CVs is Thursday 5th April and interviews will be held in Darlington on 23rd April, with a view to making an appointment in advance of the next board meeting on 3rd May.
