We are boosting our senior team with the appointment of a new head of property.
Chris Harris will join Railway Housing Association in September, in a vital role that will benefit residents by focusing on the quality and condition of our homes.
Chris will be responsible for functions and services including asset management, investment in homes and repairs, as well as health, safety and compliance.
He will join Railway from his current role as Asset and Sustainability Manager at North Star Housing Group, and will be part of the team alongside Chief Operating Officer Chris Marshall.
Chris Harris said: “I’m really excited to be joining Railway Housing Association and I am looking forward to working with colleagues, contractors and residents to improve and deliver the best possible services for our residents.”
Chris, who lives in the North East, brings a wealth of experience to Railway, having worked in housing for more than 25 years, starting his career as a technical surveyor at Middlesbrough Council.
He has held posts at a number of North East local authorities and housing associations, including several roles at Darlington Council, where he rose to the role of asset manager.
Chris has a track record of creating and delivering asset management strategies and repairs and maintenance programmes, and also brings a vast understanding of building and health and safety regulations which ensure the safety of residents.
Chris Marshall, Chief Operating Officer, added: “Railway is on an exciting journey to transform our resident experience and we are delighted that someone of Chris’s calibre will be joining us. We’ve taken time to really listen to our residents and Chris will lead a newly revamped property team, focusing on improving our repairs service and how we invest in our homes.”
