Regulatory outcome

The Regulator of Social Housing has once again awarded Railway Housing Association the highest possible rating for the way we are governed (known as rating G1).
This is an excellent outcome as it is becoming increasingly hard for registered providers to achieve this, and it is testament to the strength of our excellent board and senior management team.
The regrade of our financial viability to V2 is as a result of our planned spend on improving the energy efficiency of residents’ homes and working towards decarbonisation, as all housing associations are now mandated to do.
The vast majority of our existing homes are older properties so it will require a significant investment. We accept that the regrade reflects our efforts to maximise the use of our resources for the benefit of residents and in response to climate change, and we have sound assurances and controls in place to govern the associated risk.
