Statement on RSH downgrade

This week, the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH) downgraded Railway Housing Association’s governance grading to G2. This means, whilst we are meeting the Regulator’s governance requirements, improvements have been identified to support continued compliance. This downgrading will not affect services to residents nor the communities we serve. 

We proactively identified these issues and self-referred to the RSH. Please be assured we’re committed to taking the necessary steps to improve and we have already taken a number of steps to strengthen our organisation, working through a clear improvement plan.

One of the areas of improvement is a full condition survey of all homes which began in September 2023 and will be completed by April 2024. Further details of this programme are available in the latest issue of RHA News which will be published in early December 2023.

Railway Housing Association remains financially sound and by working collaboratively with the Regulator, our stakeholders and residents, we are confident of returning to G1.
